Volunteer
As one of the few organizations that serve children, teens, and adults with disabilities in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Pomeroy Center relies on the assistance of caring, hardworking volunteers in our programs.
Every year, more than 550 volunteers make a difference in the lives of our participants. We currently offer individual, in-person volunteer opportunities as well as a limited number of group volunteering experiences.
If you are interested in individual volunteering, please fill out an application. If you are accepted into the program, our Volunteer Manager will reach out to you during the next Onboarding Window.
General Orientations are typically held the first week of each month.

Create a Lasting Legacy
Give through your Donor Advised Fund
With a grant recommendation from your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), you can support Pomeroy’s mission using the money you’ve already set aside. This tool integrates with your DAF custodian and takes just a few minutes to use (and helps us track your gift — thank you!).
Donate Cryptocurrency
Donate your cryptocurrency to support Pomeroy’s mission in minutes and maximize your impact without paying capital gains taxes.
Individuals 70 ½ + years old may be eligible to give from their IRA account 100% tax-free and receive tax benefits in return. Donors may give up to $100,000 per year in IRA funds without an income tax penalty even while it may satisfy a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), if you’re required to take one. Please consult with your financial advisor for more details.

By donating stock, mutual funds, or bonds to serve children and adults with disabilities, you can save on two types of taxes by avoiding capital gains tax and often getting a full deduction for the value of your gift. Note: When you donate, please use this tool so we can track your gift and send you the right receipt so you can get the tax savings you deserve.
